The hiring ended a tumultuous week, as they thought they had their man in University of Florida head coach Billy Donovan. Donovan after accepting the position and being introduced to the public last week at a press conference, had severe misgivings and backed out of the deal.?He remains the head coach at Florida. Van Gundy who appeared to be close on Wednesday to consumating a deal with the Sacramento Kings takes the reins with a NBA record of 112-73. ?He took the Heat to the Eastern Conference Finals.
