Sonics Send Allen To Celtics For Green And Vets

The Seattle SuperSonics have sent shooting guard Ray Allen to the Boston Celtics, for a package that will include the number five selection in the 2007 NBA Draft. The Thursday night deal gave the Sonics two top five picks, as they had already selected Texas forward Kevin Durant with the second pick, and got Georgetown forward Jeff Green with the pick from the Celtics. Seattle also gets swingman Wally Szczerbiak, and guard Delonte West, Boston also gets LSU center?Glen “Big Baby” Davis?the number 35 pick in the second round. Allen averaged 26.4 points for Seattle his highest season average of his career. The 32 year old University of Connecticut product, is second in the league in career three point shots made, trailing only former NBA? All-Star Reggie Miller.? The Milwaukee Bucks made a controversial choice at number six, taking power forward Yi JianLian from China. The reason?the pick raised eyebrows, was the Chinese Government who will make the final decision whether Yi plays in the NBA has made it known that Milwaukee was not a market that they were enticed by. The Bucks say they have no intention of trading the rights to the power forward. Rounding out the Lottery picks; Minnesota took Florida guard Corey Brewer with the seventh pick, the Bobcats took raw but talented North Carolina power forward Brandan Wright with pick number eight. With the ninth pick Chicago took the third member of the NCAA Champion Gators to go in the top ten as they selected Joachim Noah,? Washington center Spencer Hawes maybe the most polished big man to come out in the draft?was taken with the tenth pick by Sacramento.? The Hawks hope they have finally gotten an?elite point guard in Texas A&M’s Acie Law with pick number 11, the 76ers took Georgia Tech’s Thadeus young with the 12th pick, Julian Wright out of Kansas went to the Hornets with pick number 13. The final Lottery selection went to the Clippers who picked Florida State forward Al Thornton.
