Sonics Set To Sign P.J.?

The Seattle SuperSonics according to reports out of Seattle have scheduled a news conference on Thursday, to introduce P.J.Carlesimo as their new head coach. Carlesimo was an assistant to Greg Popovich and the NBA champion San Antonio Spurs, this past season. He has been a head coach for Portland, and Golden State where he may be best known for being the victim of former NBA player Latrell Sprewell’s rage. Sprewell choked Carlesimo during a practice leading to a suspension for Sprewell. Published reports say that former Minnesota Timberwolves coach Dwayne Casey who had also been looked at as a front runner, got a call from Seattle saying they were going in another direction. Seattle has not confirmed the reports that Carlesimo has been hired.
