Kobe Says He Told Kupchack He Was Sorry
Posted by Jeff Sack under Main
The week would not be totally complete, during this NBA off season of the Summer of 2007, without an update from the never ending soap opera that the Los Angeles Lakers have become. This week’s chapter: “Kobe Says I Handled Myself Badly.” Bryant the disgruntled Lakers All-Star guard told a group of reporters on Friday, that he had apologized to Los Angeles General Manger Mitch Kupchack for airing the team’s dirty laundry in the media. Bryant started the controversy, by going on ESPN Radio and saying that he wanted out of L.A. A few hours later Bryant recanted saying that he had spoken with Lakers head coach Phil Jackson, who said that the team would do what ever it took to make their star a happy camper. But the positive spin came to an end quickly, and there were soon reports of Bryant having secret meetings with team owner Dr. Jerry Buss in Spain and demanding a trade. Bryant said that he was just venting, and should have not done so in public. He did not however say that he had rescinded his trade request.
