Wilkens Resigns From Sonics

Seattle SuperSonics Vice Chairman Lenny Wilkens resigned from his post?on Friday and ended his affiliation with the team. Saying that he had not lost his passion for the city or the team he said that his position with the organization had not worked out as he had expected. Wilkens had been named as team President back in April but had the title taken from him when Seattle hired new General Manager Sam Presti?on June 7.? When the title of President was taken so was his?influence in ?making basketball related decisions. Wilkens has a long history with the team, he was the coach of the only Sonics team that won a NBA Title back in 1979.
