Vinsanity Re-Signs With Nets

The New Jersey Nets held a press conference Friday afternoon to announce that they have re-signed unrestricted free agent Vince Carter to a long term pact. “Vinsanity” received a deal guaranteeing the next four seasons, with a partial ?guarantee for season number five. The deal is estimated to be for $66 million, and could be worth up to $80 million if the fifth year option is picked up by the Nets. Carter who was drafted by the Toronto Raptors but was traded to New Jersey during the 2004-2005 campaign. Carter who be came a free agent by opting out of the last year of his contract said on Friday, that New Jersey had always been his first choice to play with in the upcoming seasons. The Nets were eliminated by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the second round of the NBA Eastern Conference playoffs.
