The Seattle SuperSonics just might have their starting front court in place after acquiring Phoenix big man Kurt Thomas, plus two future first round picks in the NBA Draft. The Sonics in return gave up a conditional second round pick. If this move has you scratching your head, this was simply a move for the Suns to clear up some salary cap space, and they now have an $8 million dollar slot to entice a free agent. Thomas was acquired by Phoenix from the New York Knicks back in June of 20005 in a deal that sent Quentin Richardson to the Knicks. Phoenix will give Seattle their first round picks in the 2008 and 2010 NBA Drafts. Seattle will give up a conditional second round pick in 2009, that they received from Orlando. The Sonics are hoping that the veteran Thomas will mesh well with rookie forwards Kevin Durant and Jeff Green.Thomas was drafted by Miami, and has also played for the Mavericks as well as stints in New York and Phoenix.
