Congressman Wants To Meet With Stern
Posted by Jeff Sack under Main
Oh you had to know this was coming, now the Politicos want to get into the act so they can get their photo opportunities. U.S. Congressman Bobby Rush? a Democrat who represents the first district out of Illinois wants to meet with NBA Commissioner David Stern on the ongoing investigation of former NBA referee Tim Donaghy. Rush who heads the Congressional Subcommittee on Consumer Trade and Consumer Protection not only has requested a meeting with the NBA Commissioner, but says he may hold hearings if in his words the “…facts warrant public scrutiny.”? Rush goes on to say that this could be among the worst scandals in the history of American Sports. Congressman, no disrespect intended but doesn’t the U.S. Congress have more pressing priorities than spending precious national resources on the integrity of the NBA, like say education, poverty, homelessness in the USA?
