Canadian National Team Wants Nash To Play
Posted by Jeff Sack under Main
Published reports out of Canada say that Canadian National Team head coach is putting out a plea for Phoenix Suns point guard Steve Nash to play next month in Las Vegas for the FIBA Americas Olympic qualifying tournament. Canadian team coach Leo Rautins said according to reports, that he does not expect Nash to play a lot of minutes. He mainly wants Nash on the team for his leadership skills and his experience. Rautins said that it would be a no pressure situation for Nash as far as any expectations put upon him, but that it would be a huge boost to the team’s morale. Nash has not commented on the possibility of playing next month.

It would be a huge boost for Team Canada. It is highly unlikely to see #13 out there, as this is his time to rest up. I know if it were up to the Phoenix Suns, they would never allow him to play, as they would want him to rest up too.
