Right after the 2007 NBA playoffs ended, the NBA rumor mill became active in full force. One deal that kept coming up, but looked? a couple of weeks ago like it was dead in the water, may be on the verge of getting done. According to reports out of Boston on Monday, that trade has been cosumated as the Minnesota Timberwolves have traded superstar big man Kevin Garnett to the Boston Celtics. according the reports from an anonymous Boston official Minnesota will receive Al Jefferson, Sebastian Telfair, Theo Ratliff, and Gerald Green plus a possible draft pick. The Timberwolves have looked for the right partner to make the trade with since the NBA season ended. Rumors had him possibly going to the Lakers, and the Knicks in recent weeks, but apparently T-Wolves General Manager Kevin McHale liked the package that the Celtics put together. The deal could be officially announced either late Monday or Tuesday. The Celtics picked up shooting guard Ray Allen from Seattle on Draft night. Along with Paul Pierce, Boston now has three legitimate NBA elite players, and could very easily become a force to be reckoned with in the Eastern Conference in the upcoming season.
