Reports Say Jones Will Sign With Mavericks

Published reports on Friday say that Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, has confirmed that the Mavs will sign veteran free agent swing man Eddie Jones to a two year contract pending his passing a physical. The reports state that Jones will be paid $1.83 million in the first year of the pact which emanates from the club’s bi-annual exception. This would mean that Dallas would still have their mid-level exception slot available, worth about $5.3 million to pursue free agent this off season. Jones played for Memphis and Miami last season, but really stood out when the 35 year old subbed for the Heat’s injured Dwayne Wade.
