Celtics Sign Pollard And House

The Boston Celtics on Thursday added some bench help as they signed veteran center Scott Pollard and veteran guard Eddie House to contracts for the upcoming season. Neither one of these signings are considered major moves by most NBA observers. Pollard basically sat on the bench last year for Eastern Conference Champions the Cleveland Cavaliers. He is expected to be the third center on Boston, after starter Kendrick Perkins, and Kevin Garnett who will switch up from the four spot in certain situations. House a guard known for his three point shooting ability played for New Jersey last season, and will back up Celtics guards Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen. No further developments on the Reggie Miller who the Celtics have been talking with in an attempt to get him to come back from retirement after shutting it down in 2005.
