Reports Say That Donaghy May Turn Stoolie

Published Reports on Saturday state that former NBA referee Tim Donaghy who pleaded guilty Thursday to charges involving betting on NBA games that he had inside information on, may start implicating other NBA Officials concerning gambling activities. Reports state that Donaghy could name up to 20 NBA officials who were involved in some sort of gambling, although not necessarily illegally. However NBA Commissioner David Stern who addressed the Media as the information started to disseminate was adamant that the Donaghy case was an isolated incident involving one bad apple. Even the slightest association between NBA referees, and gambling could rock the league, and would certainly at the very least shake Stern’s credibility. The story was first reported by a Philadelphia area website www.notthegame.com?back on August 9,?as they?quoted a Philadelphia Sports Talk Jock saying he had spoken with an anonymous former NBA player who said that Donaghy might squeal. Both league officials, and the head of the National Basketball Referees Association say they have no knowledge of these allegations.
