Miller Working Towards Decision
Posted by Jeff Sack under Main
Can future NBA Hall Of Fame player turned TV analyst, shake off enough of the rust to come back after being retired for two years to help a team make a championship run? This is the question that Boston Celtics fans, President of Basketball Operations for Boston Danny Ainge and the man himself former Indiana Pacers superstar Reggie Miller are trying to determine. Miller was approached a couple of weeks ago by the Celtics about coming back from retirement since 2005 to become the backup to shooting guard Ray Allen, and to be a key contributor down the stretch of games and in the playoffs. Miller who was a guest on the Dan Patrick Radio Show on ESPN Radio Friday, and told Patrick that he is undergoing workouts twice a day to see if his body can withstand the rigors of a NBA season. Miller said that he should come to a decision toward the end of August or the beginning of September. Miller told Patrick that he was quite surprised by the initial call from Boston expressing in the soon to be 42 year old shooting guard making a come back. Boston has gone from an after thought in the East, to what many observers will be a serious contender in the East, with the acquisitions of Allen and Minnesota’s Kevin Garnett.
