The Houston Rockets now find that their team has an excess of point guards after the off season acquisition of Steve Francis, and Mike James to go along with Rafer Alston, Aaron Brooks, and John Lucas III who were already on the team. Looks like the odd man out is Lucas and that seems to be alright with him. Reports out of Houston say that the Rockets are looking to deal the son of former Rockets player John Lucas Jr. Lucas III would not play for Houston’s Las Vegas Summer League team and has let it be known that he would like to be dealt to a team where he could get more playing time. NBA observers have said that Cleveland may be a natural fit, as the team has done nothing this off-season to strengthen their backcourt. Lucas Jr. was the coach for the Cavaliers back in the early part of the decade, and Cleveland’s biggest weakness last season was a strong presence at the point.
