The Indianapolis Star is reporting that former Indiana Pacers shooting guard Reggie Miller will give up his comeback attempt and stay in retirement. Miller was approached last month by the Boston Celtics, to return to the NBA which he retired from in 2005. Boston had wanted him to be the backup to recently acquired Ray Allen, as well as to come into games at crucial moments down the stretch, and during the playoffs. Miller has undergone a series of twice a day workouts to see if his body could withstand the rigors of a NBA season. He decide that he could physically take the punishment but did not have a strong enough desire to go through an 82 game season and playoffs. Miller will remain a NBA TV Analyst for TNT.
