Team USA Toys With U.S. Virgin Islands Team Win 123-59
Posted by Jeff Sack under Main
Something tells me that Team USA has come into the FIBA Championship Of the Americas Competition with a new attitude. The?squad that has been out on the court in the first two games, is playing team basketball to it’s fullest, as opposed to the playground antics we saw on the floor from Team USA in 2004 and 2006. Part of the reason is the extended palying time together, part is having a great teaching coach in Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski seems to be the perfect man for the job. The third and most important reason may be the depth of the team. There are enough players that every night can feature a different hero. Thursday it was Milwaukee’s Michael Redd and Denver’s Carmelo Anthony who each had 22 points as?Team USA had their way with the team representing the U.S. Virgin Islands 123-59. This one was a?blowout from the opening? tip, as Team USA started hot and never looked back.?The team shot 50% from three point range(15-30) and? all 12 players scored. The team has an off day on Friday, and then will play Team Canada on Saturday, and the Brazilian Team on Sunday.
