Team USA Beats Up Team Canada 113-63
Posted by Jeff Sack under Main
Team USA scored early and often as they face Team Canada in the FIBA Championships of the Americas Saturday in Las Vegas winning the one sided game 113-63. Team Canada made one legitimate threat down the stretch of the first quarter to cut USA’s lead to 28-21, but they were never in the game after that. Carmelo Anthony paced Team USA with 25 points, and Michael Redd added 19 including five treys. But it was the defensive intensity that USA showed after the first quarter is what really gave them the momentum. Team USA is now 3-0 and will face the National Team from Brazil that features NBA star Leandro Barbosa on Sunday. Team Canada falls to 2-2 and will have Sunday as an off day.
