Sacramento To Sign Kevin Martin To Long Term Deal

The Sacramento Kings in a preemptive move will sign a long term contract extension with guard Kevin Martin the team revealed on Tuesday.? Martin would have become a free agent after next season, the deal is believed to be a five year pact which will take effect at the start of the 2008-2009 NBA season. Sacramento President of Basketball Operations Geoff Petrie said the deal should be finalized in the near future. Petrie said that Martin is one of the most exciting young players in the NBA and he is glad that he will be with them for an extended period.
