The Charlotte Bobcats announced Wednesday that they have reached a deal with veteran guard Jeff McInnis for the upcoming season. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. McInnis who was an unrestricted free agent, was traded from New Jersey to the Bobcats back in January. Jeff played 38 games with Charlotte, averaging 4.3 points, 3.3 assists, and 1.6 boards per game. McInnis is a Charlotte native who left the?University of North Carolina after his junior year and was drafted by the Denver Nuggets in the second round of the 1996 NBA Draft. McInnis is now with his seventh NBA team. I got to know Jeff pretty well and established a nice rapport when he played with Cleveland. Win or lose Jeff would always talk to reporters and answer the tough questions. Unfortunately a falling out with?Paul Silas who was coaching Cleveland at the time, led to his demise there. Jeff is a very talented player who has a strong sense of pride and loyalty, hopefully he has finally found himself a home.
