Team USA Annihilates Uruguay National Team 118-79
Posted by Jeff Sack under Main
This “contest” can be summed up very simply, Uruguay cut Team USA’s lead in the the waning minutes of the first quarter to five at 24-19 Wednesday night. At that point the USA players looked at each other and said it’s time to get serious gentleman. They then proceeded to score seven unanswered points until Uruguay scored the last two points of the quarter. Team USA led 31-21, and Team Uruguay would never be that close again, as the “contest” was over, and USA went on to a one sided 118-79 victory. LeBron James must have thought he was in Detroit, because he put on a performance in the first half that looked like his Game Five in the Eastern Conference Finals. LBJ went 11-11 for 26 points, and never had to leave the bench in the second half. Amare Stoudamire finished with 19 points. Team USA will take on Argentina the only other unbeaten team in the FIBA Championship of the Americas Thursday night.
