The San Jose Mercury News is reporting that the Golden State Warriors and head coach Don Nelson have re-worked his contract and he will be back on the bench for the Warriors this season. The Warriors also have a club option to pick up the contract for the 2008-2009 season. Nelson, who was lured out of retirement by Warriors General Manager Chris Mullin to return to Golden State last August. Mullin used to play for Nelson when he was the coach of the Warriors from 1988-1995. Nelson originally signed a three year guaranteed pact, for 3.1 million dollars. His salary will go up to 5.1 million but the third year is no longer guaranteed. Nelson who began his coaching career in 1976 with Milwaukee, has also coached for New York and Dallas.
