Lithuania Over Greece 78-69 Win Bronze And Olympic Berth

They partied Sunday night all over Lithuania, from Klaipeda, to Vilnus. Celebrating the accomplishments of their National Basketball Team, as Lithuania defeated Greece 78-79 in the FIBA Euro-Basket Tournament. The victory gives the Lithuanians the Bronze Medal as well as an Olympic berth in the 2008 games to be held in Beijing. Lithuania, quickly got over their disappointment over losing to Russia on Saturday in the semi-finals as they had all cylinders firing. The big man center Ksistof Laurinovic led his team with 19 points. Guard Ramunas Siskauskas and forward Linas Kleiza had 13 each, and point Sarunas Jasikevicius started out in a funk, but ended up with 11 points and 5 assists. Greece was led by game high scorer Vasileios Spanoulis who had 23 in the loss.
