Sonics May Be In Westhead’s Future

Reports coming out of Phoenix say that WNBA Phoenix Mercury head coach Paul Westhead, may be returning to the NBA as an assistant coach with Seattle Super Sonics. Westhead who led the Mercury to the WNBA title on Sunday, acknowledged that he had been contacted by old friend new Sonics coach P.J. Carlesimo. He said that he was thinking the offer over and had not come to a decision. Westhead previously was a head coach in the NBA with the LA Lakers, the Chicago Bulls and the Denver Nuggets. He is the only coach to win a WNBA?championship and a NBA championship, having won the Finals with the Lakers in 1980.
