The Boston Globe reported Sunday that the on again off again courtship process between the Boston Celtics and free agent center Esteban Batista is apparently back on. Batista’s agent Marc Cornstein said on Wednesday that Boston was out of the running for the former member of the Atlanta Hawks, but now according to the agent the talks have been revived. Batista has gone from being a bench warmer in Atlanta last season, to become one of the hottest commodities on the free agent market due to a dominating performance in the FIBA Americas Championship Games held last month in Las Vegas. The 6′10″ center averaged 20.8 points, and and led the tournament in rebounding while representing Uruguay. Cornstein, said that talks with Boston, Charlotte, and Indiana were very positive while talks with Phoenix have bogged down.
