Milwaukee Bucks center Andrew Bogut learned a very valuable lesson this summer, when you are a public figure in 2007 you have to watch what you say. Bogut had an interview back in June with an Australian newspaper in which he was quoted as saying “The public’s got it right…….a lot of NBA stars are arrogant and like to spend lots of money and have lots of girlfriends and all that,…….”

Bogut is now trying to repair relationships by reportedly apologizing to teammates, Michael Redd, Mo Williams, and Bobby Simmons. Andrew, two pieces of advice from someone who has been on the other side of the microphone for a lot of years. Number one, unless a reporter prefaces a question by saying “this is off the record” any thing you say to any one of us is fair game, no matter if you consider them a friend or not. That’s what we do, we tell people when you and your brethren from all Pro Sports say and do stupid things! Number two, it’s 2007 we are all connected instantaneously. Sure back in the 1950’s you could talk to some reporter on the other side of the globe, and chances are folks in the States, may never hear about it. But Andrew, there is something called the Internet maybe you’re familiar with it? Anyways always remember, think before you speak!
