Boozer Will Report Late To Training Camp Due To Son’s Illness

Carlos Boozer Utah Jazz power forward who came back last season as a force to be reckoned with especially in the NBA Playoffs?will be a late arrival to Training Camp this year. Carlos will help tend to his son who is recovering from bone marrow surgery according to a report in Thursday’s Desert Morning News. Boozer’s son is still in the hospital and appropriately enough the former Duke player feels his place is by his side. Boozer who was a second round NBA Draft choice by the Cleveland Cavaliers signed with Utah as a free agent. His first few years with the Jazz were marred by injury, but “Booze” had a standout season last year leading the Jazz with 20.9 points in the regular season, and helping them get to the Western Conference Finals. They were defeated by eventual NBA Champions San Antonio Spurs. Our prayers and best wishes here at Slam Dunk Central go out to the Boozer family in this trying time.
