Powell And Jefferson Sign With Memphis

The Memphis Grizzlies with NBA Training Camps starting next week, have signed two free agents Friday guard Dontell Jefferson and forward Kasib Powell. Jefferson is a 6′4″ 23 year old guard who played last season in the NBDL with the League champions Dakota Wizards. Jefferson averaged 9.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game for the Wizards who were coached by David Joerger now an assistant coach with Memphis. Powell has been around awhile, bouncing between the NBA and the European Leagues over the last few seasons. The 6′7″ 26 year old power forward played in the Russian Super League for ST. Petersburg, scoring 9.3 points grabbing 4.4 boards and getting two assists per game. He spent Training Camp with Minnesota in 2004, Chicago in 2005, and Orlando last season but did not make any of those teams regular season rosters.
