Snow Will Miss 4-6 Weeks After Knee Surgery
Posted by Jeff Sack under Main
Eastern Conference Champions the Cleveland Cavaliers got some distressing news Monday as they found out they will be without point guard Eric Snow for at least the next four to six weeks. Snow will undergo surgery to repair?a torn medial meniscus in his left knee, the surgery will be performed by?the team physician Dr. Richard?Parker at the Cleveland Clinic?on Tuesday. The 34 year old veteran hurt himself working out last week, and a MRI showed the damage. Although Snow started only 45 games for Cleveland last season and averaged 4.2 points and 4.0 assists, he is the only proven true point guard the Cavaliers have on their roster. Larry Hughes and last year’s rookie discovery Daniel “Boobie” Gibson are shooting guards who can play some point, Hughes more effectively. Devin Brown the free agent guard they signed over the weekend is a combo guard, but again more effective as a scorer than a quarterback. The closest thing they have to a true “point” on the roster is Shannon Brown who failed to impress last year during his rookie year. The lack of depth at the point guard position just makes it that much more difficult to compensate for free agents Sasha Pavlovic, and Anderson Varejao who have seemingly reached an impasse with Cleveland.
