Nets Robinson Has Torn MCL
Posted by Jeff Sack under Main
For the second time in less than a month, the New Jersey Nets are losing a member of their bench due to injury. New Jersey team President Rod Thorn announced Monday that guard/forward Bernard Robinson was discovered to have torn his medial collateral ligament or MCL in his left knee. Although the release says nothing about surgery, logic dictates that it would have to be performed in order for the MCL to be repaired. The Nets have said that there is no timetable for Robinson’s return.
Robinson is believed to have suffered the injury during practice which the Nets are holding at Farleigh Dickinson University.?Robinson came to the Nets back in January as they traded point guard Jeff McInnis to the Charlotte Bobcats. Robinson came into the?NBA in the 2005 draft as the?Bobcats took?the former Michigan player with the 45th pick.?He?has averaged 4.6?points, 2.6 rebounds and 1 assist per game during his Pro career. New Jersey lost guard Marcus Williams to foot surgery in late September.
