Defending Eastern Conference Champions the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the team Thursday night that was their opponent in the Eastern Finals the Detroit Pistons 96-90. This was truly a game of two halves in every sense of the word. Detroit dominated the first half leading by 12 as the teams went into their locker rooms 49-37. But Cleveland came roaring back to take the second half by the same margin 48-36 to end regulation tied at 85-85. The?bench came up big for the Cavaliers especially Dwayne Jones who tied the game at the end of regulation by hitting two key free throws, after missing his first four. And although?Jones ended up with only 6 points he did a nice job on the glass getting 7 rebounds. Cleveland was led by LeBron James who scored 17 points in just 24 minutes, and was sitting on the bench while his team made their comeback, and eventual win in overtime. Detroit had 3 players with 12 points each Richard Hamilton, Chauncey Billups, and Nazr Mohammed. Both teams now have identical marks of 1-1 in the pre-season games.
