Nachbar Goes Nuts Leads Nets Past Sixers 91-90 In O/T

The New Jersey Nets showed up at Philadelphia’s Wachovia center to take on the 76ers with most of their starting team left behind. Jason Kidd, Vince Carter, Richard Jefferson, and center Nenad Krstic all failed to make the trip. The Wachovia Center itself was so sparsely populated by fans, that almost every fan had their own individual usher! In a pre-season contest under these conditions you would expect the two teams to play rather lethargic or lackadaisical. Well New Jersey Nets forward Bostjan Nachbar took advantage of the extra playing time with a vengeance!?The 6′9″ forward out of Serbia has basically been a journeyman averaging 6.3 points during his 5 year NBA career spent with three different teams. But Nachbar played out of his head Friday night scoring 35 points as he led New Jersey to a 91-90 victory over the Sixers in overtime. Nachbar?played over 41:00 minutes, went 10-22 from the floor, including 3-9 from three point range and 12-14 from the charity stripe. Nachbar also seemed to inspire Philadelphia guard Louis Simmons?who also went off in?the second half scoring the bulk of his?33 points in the second half and the overtime. It was basically Simmons who brought Philly back from a 20 point deficit and allowed them to be in the position to be tied with the Nets 78-78 at the end of regulation.??
