The NBA Champions took on the Euro-League Champions Saturday night down in San Antonio as the Spurs hosted Greek team Panathinaikos. And although the Euros stayed competitive in the first quarter, down only 7 at 32-25, the Spurs started to pull away at the half leading 60-44. The Spurs finally ran away with the game in the second half as Tim Duncan led four San Antonio players in double figures as they ended up dominating the Greek team 113-91. Old friend Sarunas Jasikevicius who asked for and received his release from the Golden State Warriors got a lot of money reportedly to play point guard for Panathinaikos (if he was playing with Boston, or Cleveland now he’d be a difference maker.) Sarunas and teammate Mike Batiste each scored 18 points for the Euro-Champs. The Spurs were without Tony Parker who rested on the bench after his busy summer.
