Nobody has ever questioned Seattle SuperSonics guard Delonte West’s ability to play at the NBA level. However what many have questioned is West’s ability to stay healthy through a full 82 game NBA Season. West who is heading into his fourth year in the league, and first in Seattle has lost game injuries every year of his pro-career. And with the regular season coming up just around the corner, West’s fragility may have cost him a spot in the Sonics starting lineup for Opening night.

West who came to Seattle on the night of the NBA Draft, in the deal that sent guard Ray Allen to Boston, has already missed timedue to a back injury this pre-season. And now according to the Seattle Post Intelligencer, he may miss more time due to a strained right quad. He is listed as day to day. Seattle is impressed with what he can do on the floor and that is why he has been a candidate to be in the starting lineup. West has averaged 10.4 points, 3.8 assists, and 3.1 rebounds in his three years with the Celtics.
