Bird To Help Sponsor Learning Center In D.J.’s Honor
Posted by Jeff Sack under Main

Indiana Pacers President Larry Bird is helping to pay tribute to a man who was a huge part of his NBA playing days, the late Dennis Johnson. Johnson who was Bird’s teammate with the Boston Celtics as they played on two NBA Championship Teams died unexpectedly in February from a heart attack. Now Bird want’s to make sure Johnson’s legacy lives on, by helping to fund a children’s learning center in Boston. The facility will be located at the YMCA on Huntington Avenue in Boston. The learning center has what is being described as state of the art equipment including 10 desk top computers, and flat screen wall monitors. Bird has often said that Johnson, who by some strange injustice is not in the Basketball Hall Of Fame was the best teammate he ever had.
