The Cleveland Cavaliers announced on Wednesday that they have shut down shooting guard Daniel Gibson for the team’s final two exhibition games. Gibson is currently suffering from a strained right hamstring. The team announced that Gibson will not travel with the team to Boston and Toronto, the sites of their final two games. Gibson who was selected by Cleveland with their second round pick in the 2006 NBA Draft, came alive in the NBA Playoffs last season. The 21 year old guard out of Texas saw his points per game total increase from 4.6 points during the regular season to 8.3 during the post season. Gibson’s status for the regular season opener on October 31, as they host Dallas is unknown.
