Thursday’s Orlando Sentinel has reported that veteran forward Tony Battie will miss the season after undergoing surgery to repair his left rotator cuff. Battie who has played 10 years in the NBA, had a slight tear in the rotator cuff that the surgery rectified. He injured his shoulder playing a one on one game with teammate Dwight Howard before training camp began. Battie has been with the Magic since the 2004-2005 campaign, he was traded by the Cleveland Cavaliers as part of the deal that brought Drew Gooden to Cleveland. He was drafted by Denver where he played as a rookie, but then played for the Boston Celtics for five and a half seasons.
