Pistons Surprise Observers With Cutting Mejia To Get To Roster Limit

The Detroit Pistons have their roster down to the NBA Maximum of 15 players after cutting 2007 second round pick Sammy Mejia. Mejia who was the 57th pick in the draft and ?is a product of DePaul University was given a partially guaranteed contract after playing so well in the Las Vegas Summer League. Mejia was expected to beat out veteran Ronald Dupree for the final roster spot, but Dupree got the nod. Mejia who can play at either small forward or shooting guard position was effected when Detroit signed former Washington Wizards Jarvis Hayes. The?Pistons still have three rookies on their roster Rodney Stuckey, who is on the injured list, Arron Afflalo?ho were both first round picks in the 2007 draft. they also have center Cheikh Samb who is from Senegal and was taken in the second round of the 2006 draft. Samb played in Spain last season.
