Boozer, Williams lead Jazz in rout of Warriors, 117-96

Five months after they defeated the Golden State Warriors in 5 games in the second round of the Western Conference playoffs this past spring, the Utah Jazz are showing thus far that they have lost very little personnel-wise.? The Jazz, led by Carlos Boozer’s 32 points and 15 rebounds along with point guard Deron Williams’ 24 points and 8 assists, ruined the home opener of the Golden State Warriors, soundly beating them 117-96 at Oracle Arena.?
Boozer scored 18 points in the?first half and the Jazz ran off 10 consecutive points to start an 18-2 run early in the second quarter.? Golden State reduced the lead to 6 points early in the 3rd period but Utah made a 17-7 run, led by Boozer and shooting guard Ronnie Brewer.? The Jazz scored often in the paint, outrebounded the Warriors 54-37 and frequently cashed in on Warrior turnovers?(20 in the game).
As previously mentioned, Boozer led the victorious Jazz with 32 points and 15 rebounds, with Williams adding 24 points and 8 assists.? Second-year forward Paul? Millsap contributed 16 points and 10 boards.? The Warriors were led by?point guard?Baron Davis with 25 points and 10 assists and guard-forward Mickael Pietrus with 17 points.? The Jazz (1-0) play Thursday in their home opener against the Houston Rockets while the Warriors (0-1) visit Los Angeles on Friday to take on the Los Angeles Clippers.

The 2nd Round La. Tech Bulldog Draft Pick Paul Milsap, is that typical Jazz “glue” player that gets the job done and makes that team so good… Can’t say enough about this kid - he is everywhere and has the complete game (loved him coming out of college as the top rebounder 3 straight years running), he has the chance to be the next “Boozer” and has all the talent and intangibles to do so.
Nice to see the versatile and defensive-minded Ronnie Brewer (Arkansas - 1st Round) start and do well - this is a young team that “should” only get better, having room to improve…
They could be the new “Dallas”, having a 55 + win team every year - and with guys like Milsap and Brewer, and the young influx of players and the good moves/decisions in the Draft and off-season - those things are the important, little apsects that now make this team something special and one to watch out for and keep an eye on this year because they have the right chemistry of a Suns and Spurs…
