Attention TNT! I get it! Eva Longoria is a very pretty lady, and probably a very good actress as well (I have never had any inclination to watch Desperate Housewives, I’m more of a Lost, and Heroes, type of guy, but I digress.) I am also very happy that she and San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker found each other and have a story book life! However, when the Portland Trail Blazers have cut a Spurs lead from 16 points to 4 at 73-69, I don’t want a split screen with Eva and Cheryl Miller talking about rings, and gardeners. If you want to use that as a halftime segment and take some time away from Ernie and Charles, be my guest! Or here is even a better idea! How about you have Cheryl host an hour special on NBA Wives? Just do me a favor and let me know when it is on so I can be sure to miss it!!

Okay now down to the game! The San Antonio Spurs started the 2007-2008 NBA season the same way they ended the 2006-2007 campaign. With a win as they withstood numerous challenges by Portland as they held on for a 106-97 victory Tuesday night. Tim Duncan scored a team high 24 points and 13 boards for San Antonio, Parker had 19 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists, and sixth man Manu Ginobili had 16 points 8 assists and 3 boards. Portland center LaMarcus Aldridge had a monster game as he scored a game high 27 points, Martell Webster had 21, and Joel Przybilla had 13 points and 10 rebounds. Portland kept coming back as they cut the lead to 98-95. But Tony Parker scored 4 straight points to increase the lead to 102-95.
