Late free throws boost Bobcats over Bucks 102-99

Some timely free throws made the difference for the Charlotte Bobcats, as guard Raymond Felton made 2 FT’s with 0.1 seconds left to preserve a 102-99 win over the Milwaukee Bucks.? The Bobcats’ free-throws almost did them in, as they went 22-for-43 at the charity stripe; Bobcat forward-center Emeka Okafor went 3-for-13 at the stripe and newly acquired guard Jason Richardson went 2-for-6.

It was nip-and-tuck for most of the game; however, Felton’s 2 FT’s with 1:41 left put Charlotte ahead for good.? But it got interesting at the end as Felton and Okafor combined to hit only 2 of their next 6 FT’s.? After Milwaukee point guard Mo Williams made a layup reduced the Bobcats lead to 100-99, Felton hit 2 FT’s to ice the win.

The aforementioned Felton led Charlotte with 26 points and 12 assists, along with forward Gerald Wallace added 22 and 10 rebounds and Richardson chipped in 21 in his debut with the Bobcats.? Milwaukee was led by shooting guard Michael Redd with 21 points with Williams adding 20; forward Charlie Villanueva came of the bench to chip in 14.? The game was played before 16,368; however, there were thousands of empty seats at tip-off.? Charlotte (1-0) next?visit the Miami Heat on Sunday while the 0-2 Bucks return home to play the Chicago Bulls on Saturday night.
