You could hear the frustration Wednesday night as Cleveland Cavaliers All-Star forward LeBron James talked to the media after a lackluster loss to the Dallas Mavericks. James never makes excuses, and he did not that night saying his team played badly in all aspects of the game and did not deserve to win. James made sure that the situation would not be repeated Friday night as they played host to the New York Knicks.

James who was stymied by Dallas Wednesday night, would not allow anything to stop him Friday. James scored 45 points, 7 assists, and 7 rebounds leading Cleveland to a hard fought win over New York 110-106. LBJ scored more points against the Knicks than any other player in the Cavaliers history, eclipsing World B. Free’s previous high of 39 points. James shot 13-28 from the field including 3-5 from outside the arc and went 16-22 from the line. Guard Daniel Gibson also had a huge game going 8-12 from the field and an impressive 6-9 from three point range for 24 points.

The Knicks had a very impressive effort from Jamal Crawford who shot 8-17 from the field and went 8-8 from the line for a team high 5 points and 6 assists. New York had five players in double figures as they lost their season opener, the Cavaliers now sit at 1-1.
