Plenty Of Action Friday Night For NBA Fans
Posted by Jeff Sack under Main
Friday night will be jam packed as 13 games are on the NBA docket including some season debuts. One of the most intriguiging contests will be the first game in a NBA Double Header to be broadcast on ESPN. The Boston Celtics who underwent a complete makeover during the Summer will be opening it’s campaign at home hosting? a healthy Washington Wizards team. The Wizards were eliminated in the first round of last season’s NBA Playoffs by the Cleveland Cavaliers, but were playing without Gilbert?Arenas and Caron Butler. Both are back this season which makes them a much more dangerous team. Boston of course has fans more excited than they have been since 1992, the year Larry Bird retired. The Celtics traded for “The Big Ticket” Kevin Garnett, and Ray Allen, to go along with Paul Pierce who has carried the burden in Boston far too long. Most NBA observers expect to see a dramatic turn around for the Celtics.
The second game featured on ESPN will feature the L.A. Lakers heading to the “Land of the Sun” to take on Phoenix. Los Angeles has of course been engulfed in the never ending soap opera “As Kobe Turns” since the start of the off-season and each day takes on a new rumour. It seems like no one on the team cares about what’s going on on the court, as much as what is going on between Bryant and team owner Jerry Buss. Enough Please!! Phoenix of course one of the strongest teams in the league as Amare Stoudemire looks as good as new after arthroscopic surgery on his knee last month.
Also making their 2007-2008 NBA Season entrances Friday night the Los Angeles Clippers who host Golden State, the Charlotte Bobcats who have the Milwaukee Bucks coming to town and the new look Minnesota Timberwolves, who could either be very good with all the young talent anchored by Antoine Walker or look like an expansion team.
