Bobcats waste big lead, rally to nip Heat 90-88

In what hopefully won’t be a recurring theme with the Charlotte Bobcats, they wasted a huge lead against the Miami Heat.? But fortunately for them, they regrouped then rallied to slide past the Heat 90-88 in Miami.? The Heat were down 81-65 with 10:52 left in the game, with soime Bobcats doing some, as it would turn out, premature celebrating by the bench.?

But Miami came back in a big way.? Outscoring the Bobcats 21-5 over the next 9 minutes, the Heat knotted the game up at 86.? Bobcats point guard Raymond Felton converted two free throws with 50.9 seconds remaining and possibly could have given the Bobcats a 4-point edge but his layup with 16 seconds left was blocked by Heat center Shaquille O’Neal.? Miami called a timeout with 10 seconds left, but Heat guard Ricky Davis committed a turnover with 2.2 ticks left.? 2 FT’s by Bobcats G Jeff McInnis sealed the victory.

Charlotte swingman led all Bobcat players with 29 points, with Felton adding 19 and 7 assists and forward-center Emeka Okafor chipping in 16 and 13 rebounds.? Miami power forward Udonis Haslem led the Heat with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while O’Neal added 17 points and 9 boards.? Charlotte (2-0) returns home to face the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday while the Heat (0-3) travel to San Antonio to face the Spurs on Wednesday.
