Houston 3-0 To Start Season Top Blazers 89-80

The Houston Rockets?have opened up the 2007-2008 NBA season without a loss and the Portland Trail Blazers have started without a win after losing to Houston 89-80 Saturday night. The victory has Houston with a 3-0 while Portland now falls to 0-3.

The Rockets were led by center Yao Ming who had his best game of the young campaign scoring a team high 21 points and getting 12 rebounds, while guard Tracy McGrady had 2o points and 6 assists. Both McGrady and Yao had scoring droughts in the second half as the guard scored only five points while the?big man had only eight. But that’s when the Rockets’ defense kicked in. Houston forced 18 Blazers turnovers, and?Portland could get quite in gear. The Rockets went on an 18-4 run to start the game while Portland looked like there was a lid on their basket. They shot 3-17 in the contest’s opening moments.

Portland had 3 starters in double figures as Brandon Roy had a game?high 23 points. Forward Martell Webster had 20 points, while Joel Pryzbilla had 15 and both players had 8 boards each. Houston goes to 3-0 for the first time since?1996-1997, while Portland falls to 0-3 for the first time since 1986-1987.
