It appeared it was going to be a pretty easy afternoon for the Boston Celtics as they traveled up north to Toronto to take on the Toronto Raptors.Boston held Toronto to 27% shooting in the first half, and Chris Bosh did not score his first points of the game until there were only 34 seconds remaining in the first half. Boston went into the locker room at the half up by by 7 points 38-31. And things only looked rosier for the Men in Green as they increased their lead after the third quarter to 66-55.
But things kind of got topsy turvy?in the fourth quarter as the Raptors outscored the Celtics 23-12, and at the end of regulation it was tied at 78-78. The?overtime period was fought valiantly by both teams, as they were tied at 95-95 with seconds left on the clock. And that’s when? Boston shooting guard Ray Allen hammered the final nail in the Raptors coffin with a three point basket that won the game for the Celtics 98-95.
Allen led all scorers with 33 points while the “Big Ticket” Kevin Garnett had 23 points 13 rebounds?6 assists and?3 steals for Boston. Toronto was led by the talented point guard TJ Ford who had 32 points and 5 assists, while Chris Bosh? had 19 points and 10 boards in the loss. Boston is now 2-0 to start the campaign while Toronto now is at 2-1.
