The?New Orleans?Hornets are on a bit of a hot streak at the moment; they went to 3-0 as they defeated the Denver Nuggets at Denver on Sunday.? The Hornets last season started 4-0; the Nuggets haven’t won 3 straight?to start a season since 1985-86.? The Nuggets lost yet another guard, losing Michael Wilks to a hamstring injury.? At one point during the game they had four forwards and guard Allen Iverson on the floor.

Denver reduced a 9-point deficit to 71-69 before Hornets center Tyson Chandler scored on an offensive rebound to give New Orleans a 73-69 after 3 periods.? Iverson of the Nuggets? missed a layup between 3-pointers by Hornets guard Bobby Jackson and swingman Rasual Butler whcih put the Hornets up 79-71 with 10 minutes left in the game.

New Orleans?had 6 players in double-figures, led by power forward David West with 17 points and 13 rebounds with point guard Chris Paul putting in a strong effort (15 points, 8 rebounds and 11 assists) and the aforementioned Chandler chipping in 12 and 17 boards.? Denver was led by Iverson with 23?points and 8 assists; forward Carmelo Anthony added 20 points.? The Hornets (3-0) next travel to Los Angeles to take on the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday while the Nuggets (2-1) fly to New York to challenge the New York Knicks, also on Tuesday.??
