It is bad enough that the Indiana Pacers’ frontcourt is rather short-handed.  It is even worse when it is one of their starters.  The Associated Press is reporting that Pacers forward Ike Diogu will be sidelined from between 4-to-6 weeks with a torn left calf muscle.  Apparently, he hurt that muscle during practice on Tuesday.

Diogu told AP, “It happens.  Injuries are part of the game.  It was like somebody threw a rock at the back of my leg, so I knew it was going to be something pretty serious.”  The 6′8″ Diogu came to Indiana as part of a multi-player trade with the Golden State Warriors last season.  He was averaging, up to the time of his injury, 13.7 PPG and 4.3 RPG.
