Nine Games On Tap For NBA Wednesday
Posted by Jeff Sack under Main
The NBA will have another busy night Wednesday as nine games will be played featuring some pretty exciting teams. One of the most unexpected surprises to come out of the Western Conference is the New Orleans Hornets who have come out of the gate 4-0. They will take on the?Portland Trail Blazers who are 0-3. New Orleans has one of the best young point guards in the NBA today in Chris Paul, who is quickly climbing the ladder to the elite category in the league. Paul has averaged 18.8 points 12.5 assists, and 5.5 rebounds per game, and he is the engine of the Hornets machine. Veteran Peja Stojakovic is as deadly as ever with the ball in his hands leading the team with 19.5 points a game, David West is scoring 17.5 points per game and center Tyson Chandler may finally have grown up as he is averaging 11.8 points and 12.5 rebounds per game. As for Portland, it’s going to be a long hard winter waiting for Greg Oden to recover from microfracture surgery on his left knee.
The Boston Celtics are looking to go 3-0 to start the season, something they have not accomplished since 1999. They will have a tough task ahead as they host what is sure to be a very ticked off Denver Nuggets team that blew a big lead to lose to the New York Knicks Tuesday night.?Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo will have their hands full trying to contain Allen Iverson.
LeBron James carried Cleveland Tuesday night to?a victory over Golden?State?Tuesday night as he was one assist short of a triple double. His former teammate Carlos Boozer and the Utah Jazz will try to keep LBJ from repeating the deed Wednesday as?the Cavaliers?will play their third game of a six game road trip. Cleveland so far is 1-1 on the trip, and 2-2 for the year, Utah sports the identical record.
And?it’s a battle of the undefeated teams as the Los Angeles Clippers are looking to go 4-0? as they travel to the Canseco?Fieldhouse to take on the Pacers. This will be the second game of a back to back for?the Clippers as Cuttino Mobley scored 33 Tuesday to lead them to a win over Chicago. The Pacers take the floor? with a 3-0 mark.
