Wizards Being Cautious with Arenas

????????????????????????????????????????????????Washington Wizards point guard Gilbert Arenas?

As any prudent NBA team would do with an injured star player, according to Ivan Carter of the Washington Post, the Washington Wizards are being cautious with star point guard Gilbert Arenas as he attempts to recover fully from offseason knee surgery – which?meant his absence from practice.

Wizards head coach Eddie Jordan told the Post, “We’re just taking some precautionary measures, giving him some time off because we have this gap between games.? He’ll be ready, we think, for Thursday. We think.”? If that isn’t cautious, I don’t know what is.? The Wizards’ next few games (3 games in the next 4 days – New Jersey, Denver and Atlanta) will provide the team ample opportunity to rest Arenas as much as possible.

Jordan also mentioned that the Wizards expected Arenas to experience a degree of discomfort as he gradually gets used to playing at full speed after a summer of rehab work on his knee.? And without a doubt, the team needs Arenas at full strength as soon as humanly possible, but not at the risk of slowing the progress of a full recovery on his knee.
